Only eleven more books to read in order to reach my 100 for the year. I honestly don't know if I'm going to be able to manage. I've taken a second part-time job and my time is really limited these days. However, I'll give it my best shot. Maybe I should just read short books?!:-)

Book # 126 was The Golden Spruce by John Vaillant, 2005. It won the Governor General's Award for Best Non-Fiction in English - the GG Awards are Canada's top literary honours.  The award was well-deserved; I believe that it was the best non-fiction book I have ever read. The tale centres around an enviromentalist's chopping down of a 300-year old ( Read more... )
